NRL South Australia Oaks Hotels & Resorts

Volunteer of the Year Program

Season 2015 will see NRL South Australia partnered with Oaks Hotels & Resorts run a Volunteer of the Year Program. This will be the fifth year Oaks Hotels & Resorts has supported this great program that gives recognition and shows our gratitude to all our volunteers in the game of rugby league in South Australia. The Volunteer Recognition and Retention programs, flows through to the National Volunteer of the Year program run by the One Community Department of the NRL.

The NRL SA Oaks Hotels & Resorts Volunteer of the Year Program will be conducted over the duration of the 2015 NRL SA Rugby League season from March 2015 until September 2015. This year, Clubs will nominate a volunteer of the week and from these nominations an Oaks Hotels & Resorts representative will select a monthly winner.

The Volunteer of the Year program has the following major features to showcase our recognition of the work done by our volunteer army of officials who are the backbone of the sport in South Australia. These features include:

·         Senior and Junior clubs along with all affiliated Leagues in South Australia are invited to register to be a part of the Volunteer of the Year Program.

·         Clubs and affiliated Leagues who are a part of the program will be given a number of certificates to be presented to volunteers within their Club / affiliated League on a weekly basis.

·         The volunteers recognised each week will have their names submitted to the NRL SA for inclusion in the NRL SA Weekly Newsletter under the NRL SA Oaks Hotels & Resorts Volunteer of the Year Program.

·         An Oaks Hotels & Resorts representative will select on a monthly basis (March-September) from club weekly nominations a volunteer who will receive a NRL SA Oaks Hotels & Resorts Volunteer of the Month Certificate and t-shirt.

·         All 7 Volunteer of the Year finalists will be recognised on the NRL SA Oaks Hotels & Resorts Volunteer of the Year Webpage and receive a reward of recognition of service to Rugby League at the Presentation Night dinner.

·         Volunteer of the Year will be drawn from these 7 finalists with the winner receiving an Oaks Hotels & Resorts voucher for one night accommodation for two with breakfast included (in Adelaide).

Clubs and Affiliated Leagues are urged to participate in this program and support the recognition and retention of volunteers within our sport. Please see Volunteer Program processes and protocols for further details.
